The Month of November

A month of remembrance of our departed who have preceded us in the pilgrimage to our Father. It is also a month to reflect on our lives – the way we journey on that pilgrimage. Do we value the gift of life? Do we find the true gift of life in the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ? Jesus is our one and only assurance that the grave is not the last step in our journey. The love given and lived in our life is stronger than death. Remembering our departed in our prayers, may we strive to live by the law of love of God and neighbor. It is the only way to assure ourselves of a place in the eternal Kingdom of truth, peace and love.

POLAND UNDER THE CROSS

On the 14th of September, on the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, a great prayerful event “Poland under the cross” will take place in Poland. Our parish also wishes to join this prayerful vigil and stand with Mary under the cross of Jesus. The program will begin with the evening Mass on Friday, September 13th. During the prayer and overnight adoration of the cross and the Blessed Sacrament, we want to spiritually connect with the participants of this action in Poland and ask that the cross may take a central place in our personal life and in the life of our nation. The Holy Mass on the morning of September the 14th, followed by Rosary and procession around the church will conclude the program. More information in the near future.

You are invited to the upcoming extraordinary prayer days called the Jericho Rosary. This event will take place in our parish on October 12-19.

The name Jericho Rosary refers to the event described in the biblical Book of Joshua.

Jericho is a plea to heaven – an uninterrupted, rotating vigil in front of the Blessed Sacrament for seven days, 24 hours a day, including a daily Holy Mass, a Rosary, and many other prayers. Some participants will stay in prayer for several hours, after which they will be replaced by others to return again to the Blessed Sacrament. Others will join in at least for some time, but someone will continuously pray, in a way that famous Jericho trumpets continued their sound until the finale God has foretold his people.

This year’s Jericho Rosary titled “The Way to Freedom” will be led by Fr. Szymon Mucha, Editor-in-Chief of the “Różaniec” (“Rosary”) monthly magazine. Father Mucha is a National Moderator of the Living Rosary.

We will bring to Him our prayers for our brothers and sisters, through the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, so the walls of our different enslavements can be shattered.

Let’s encourage each other to participate in these days of prayer as much as possible.
